SIJ Youth Ministry Board
What is the Youth Ministry Board (YMB)?
The St. Isaac Jogues Youth Ministry Board is a peer leadership group of high school students that gives important input to Cornerstone Youth Ministry programs and events. It offers opportunities for leadership, service, and growth in faith. The YMB typically meets every month on the second Monday from 7:00 –8 :00pm in the RE Office.
Why get involved?
Being a part of the Youth Ministry Board is a great way to “live out” your Baptismal call to serve and to grow in leadership skills and build your resume for college!
Nuts & Bolts:
Mentors: Students will work with an adult mentor when chairing or co-chairing an event or fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
Attendance: Points are tracked for attendance at meetings and participation in events. These points help to determine who is eligible for seats on the Executive Board as YMB officers, and help parent leaders to write letters of recommendation if you request one for a college or job application. Meeting dates: October 2, November 13, December 11, January 15, February 12, March 12, April 9
Commitment: Although you may have many other activities, participation in YMB events needs to be a priority for you -- especially if you seek and accept an officer position.
Ethics: You represent St. Isaac Jogues Parish and the Youth Ministry Board in all you do. Your personal behavior reflects on the group as a whole.

YMB – Adult Mentors
The YMB needs adult Mentors to work with teens who have accepted a role as an Officer or a Chair/Co-Chair of an event. We want the students to grow in their leadership skills, so some coaching is needed. Essentially, we are looking for adults who will attend the monthly YMB meetings and follow-up with one or two assigned student(s) between meetings. For more information and to volunteer please contact Mike Kuhn at the RE Office at 630-323-0265 or firstname.lastname@example.org
