At St. Isaac Jogues we are committed to showing the love of Jesus by caring for the physical and spiritual needs of those in our parish, our community, our nation, and our world through targeted ministries that address particular needs.
Read below for descriptions of each of these ministries.
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed me; I was naked and you clothed me; I was ill and you took care of me; I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Matthew 25:34-36 (NCB)
The Elizabeth Ministry is a lay woman-to-woman ministry that addresses all aspects of women’s needs in the childbearing years (and beyond). We celebrate each new life born, and mourn the losses of the unborn, miscarried, stillborn, and deceased children of our parish. It is a natural fit with our pro-life beliefs. We know that sometimes the needs of women in the parish seem to be invisible. But they are real. Ask any woman who is struggling with infertility, miscarriage, a high-risk pregnancy, or stillbirth. Through this ministry, we endeavor to bring hope and healing to women during difficult times but also to celebrate and support the sacredness of womanhood, motherhood, and birth.

In the past, parishioners from St. Isaac Jogues Parish have participated in an interfaith ministry providing food and volunteers to two soup kitchens in Chicago and LaGrange. Volunteers help in a variety of roles, from preparing soup at Union Church here in Hinsdale, to delivering soup to the San Lucas storefront mission church in Chicago, to serving hot meals at the La Grange Soup Kitchen.
Our participation in this ministry was put on hold out during the COVID pandemic. We'll announce in the bulletin and here on the website when opportunities to serve in this ministry open up again.
