Seeds of Service 2019SATURDAY, APRIL 13
We at St. Isaac Jogues Church and the residents of Hinsdale are uniting for our sixth annual Seeds of Service project to feed the needy of our surrounding communities, and beyond. At last year’s event, because of your generosity, we collected, sorted, and distributed more than 2000 bags and 10 pallets of food and other needed items to six worthy charities. But we can’t do it without your help.
To make this happen, we’ll need about 400 volunteers over two Saturdays: 100 to drop off 4000 bags on Saturday April 6, from 9:00-10:30, and 300 volunteers to pick up, sort, and deliver the collected bags on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00-12:00, in two, 1½ hour shifts. Please sign up here for the days and times that best work for you, and remember to bring a bag or two filled with any of the below items when you arrive at the St. Isaac’s parking lot to start your shift. What we give and the service we provide will help those most in need through the below charities, who are always grateful and amazed at the bounty they receive from our parish and town. You can even see the gratitude on the faces of the orphans from a small village in Nigeria (pictured above) happily wearing our Seeds of Service t-shirts though Children’s Welfare and Development. Let's all come together to live out our Faith the Lent, performing works of charity with our friends and neighbors right here in our backyard, in both giving to and serving the least among us, because of Jesus. Charity Wish List
The items you generously donate will be distributed to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Peoples’ Resource Center, the Missionaries of Charity, HCS Family Services, & the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago.
