What IS perpetual adoration?
Perpetual Adoration is continuous prayer before the real presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The consecrated Body of Christ is placed in the center of a special sacred vessel called a monstrance in our adoration chapel for 24 hours, 7 days a week. Jesus is thus available for ANYONE who wishes to visit and spend time with Him.
Who are registered adorers?
Registered adorers have committed to spend a designated hour once a week in the adoration chapel. They are NOT required to be parishioners or particularly “active” Catholics. They come to feel the peace of Christ, to share their joys and heartaches with the Lord, to pray for friends and family or sometimes just to “be” with God. Whenever the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, there MUST be at least one adorer present to show reverence for the presence of Jesus. Our registered adorers make it possible for the Eucharist to be available 24/7
Can I visit the chapel without being a registered adorer?
Yes, absolutely! Mary calls us ALL to come spend time with her son. YOU decide how long or how often to visit, but by all means, do come and visit.
I would like to be a regular adorer, but my schedule is too crazy. What can I do?
Almost EVERY hour right now has at least ONE regular adorer. This means that you could sign up as a co-adorer for whichever hour works best for you and contact the other person(s) assigned at that time to work out a coverage schedule which best suits your needs. Many regular adorers trade days and or times with other adorers when a conflict comes up. We also have an extensive list of substitutes. Another option is to gather a “group” of 3-4 friends and sign up together for a time; you would then have a commitment only once or twice a month. We have many, many regular adorers with ‘challenging’ schedules; most will tell you that their adoration time has become a real priority in their lives.
