Bus, Private, and Bicycle
Transportation
Private Transportation To and From School
For morning drop-off, do not use Clay Street. Children
should be dropped off at the corner of Fourth Street
and Clay. If traveling east on Fourth, use the parkway
at the church entrance; if coming west, use the parking
lot entrance and exit.
Students should remain across the street while waiting
for the entrance bell. They must always use the
crosswalks.
For afternoon pick-up, use the parking lot (but please
do not exit until all the school buses have departed).
Kindergarten students may be dropped off or picked up
on the school side of Clay Street.
Bus Transportation
Our bus service is provided in part by Public School
District #181. For detailed information on bus routes
and fees, contact the school office. (Please note:
students are permitted to ride only their assigned bus.)
Good behavior on the bus is vital. Monitoring of
conduct is the responsibility of the driver, in
coordination with the school principal. Any
misbehavior that endangers the safety of our students
will automatically result in a suspension from the bus.
Less serious offenses will bring discipline notices to
parents as well as possible detention. If misconduct
persists, further actions (including suspension) will
result. Here are a few “dos and don’ts” for students:
Be on time for your bus.
While waiting for the bus, stay off the street.
Be seated quickly and remain seated when the bus is
moving.
Do not open windows or doors except with permission
from the driver.
Help keep the bus clean. Food, candy or beverages
must not be consumed on the bus.
Keep your heads, hands and arms inside the bus – and
never throw anything from a bus window.
Loud or disruptive behavior on the bus is dangerous.
It distracts the driver and will not be tolerated.
Bicycles
Beginning in third grade, students may ride bicycles
to school. However, they must “walk” their bikes while
on the school grounds. Students should lock their bikes
in racks provided, and are responsible for their own
locks and chains. (The school cannot accept
responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged bikes.)
Please note: skateboards, roller blades and such are
not permitted on school grounds.
