Parent Student Online Handbook:
Organizations and Affiliations
 

Saint Isaac Jogues School is a member institution of
the Diocese of Joliet. The school is registered with,
and has received formal recognition from, the Illinois
State School Board of Education.

What’s more, Saint Isaac Jogues has been designated
a “Recognized School of Excellence” by the United
States Department of Education.

School policies are established by the school
commission under the aegis of the pastor and parish
council. The commission meets each month. Everyone
is invited to attend.

The school principal, who serves as executive of the
school commission, is charged with responsibility
to implement all policies and procedures.

Saint Isaac Jogues Parish School Commission

The school commission is a consultative body.
Before deciding most major issues, the pastor and
school principal will seek and consider advice of the
commission. Generally speaking, unless there are
specific and overriding reasons to the contrary,
advice of the commission is taken, especially when
members are unanimous.

We wish to highlight two procedural issues regarding
meetings:

Individual financial concerns or school personnel
matters are not appropriate topics for an open
commission meeting. These issues will be addressed
by the principal, in accordance with diocesan policy.
Parents with questions or concerns should contact the
school office.

Comments by parents at commission meetings are
welcome, but cannot be considered “actionable.” For
an issue or concern to be considered by the commission,
it must be placed on the agenda so members can review
pertinent information prior to a meeting.

To have an issue considered for inclusion on the
commission agenda, write a detailed description and
submit it to the principal or president of the committee
at least 10 days prior to a scheduled meeting.

Parent-School Association

All parents of children enrolled at Saint Isaac Jogues
automatically are members of the Parent/School
Association. The association is led by an executive
board of parents graciously volunteering their time.
This group’s mission is to facilitate parent-teacher
communications, promote student programs, sponsor
and direct fund-raising activities and serve as a source
of information for new families.
