Parent Student Online Handbook:
Admission Policies and Procedures
Saint Isaac Jogues School is open to students of any
race, gender or ethnic origin. Preference is given to
children of registered, active parishioners.* Priorities
for admission are:
1. Children of active parishioners who
have other children already attending Saint Isaac Jogues.
2. Newly-registering children of active
parishioners.
3. Transfer students from other Catholic
schools.
4. Children of Catholic non parishioners.
5. Children of non-Catholic families.
When applications exceed available enrollment openings, a wait-list is maintained for each grade. This list is based on the priority criteria shown above.
* Determination of “active” parishioner status is made by pastor.
Important Points
Kindergarten students must be five years of age by September 1. First grade students must be six years of age by September 1.
Registration for all grades is conducted during the school year (you will be notified).
Class size for grades 1-8 does not exceed 30 students, and for the four sessions of kindergarten class size will not exceed a total of 90 students.
Enrollment at Saint Isaac Jogues does not guarantee bus service. Bus service is available only where homes can be serviced by established routes.
A medical physical examination is required (by state
law) upon entrance to kindergarten and again to fifth
grade – or to any grade when a student has not
previously been examined. Physical exam forms must
be submitted to the office prior to the first day of school.
Students must have a copy of their birth and baptismal certificates (if not baptized at Saint Isaac Jogues) on file in the school office.
Transferring students may be admitted to Saint Isaac
Jogues on receipt of their records – attendance,
health, academics – from the transferring school.
Until these records are received, a new student’s status
is considered probationary and subject to review.
Withdrawals and Review of Records
If for any reason a student withdraws from Saint Isaac Jogues, parents or guardians must:
Notify the school office as soon as possible.
Complete a transfer form.
Make arrangements for any unpaid financial obligations.
Please note that parents have the right to review their
child’s permanent file before it is transferred to another
school. This right extends to non-custodial parents,
in the absence of a court order to the contrary.
Parents who wish to review records must first make an
appointment with the school office.
