For grades 4 through 8
In early Spring the top two contentants from
individual homeroom spelling bee “warm ups” are
selected to participate in the annual SIJ Spelling Bee
moderated by three teachers and performed in front
of the entire student body.
Each contentant studies a three-page listing of
possible words divided into three levels of difficulty.
Words progress from easy to hard throughout this
student vs. student competition, and the winner
represents SIJ at a multi-school spelling bee.
