We offer Spanish beginning in grade five. This rich and lyrical language was brought to the New World more than five centuries ago, and has never been more relevant for younger Americans than it is today.
Instruction in Spanish begins with fundamentals of grammar and usage, extending in later grades to conversational and written communication. We strive for our students to become proficient in everyday Spanish as well as expression of abstract ideas.
Methods of instruction range from an individual focus to small groups and total class involvement, at the teacher’s discretion. In this way we can employ the most effective teaching methods – as needed.
As much as possible, we want each Saint Isaac
Jogues student to work at his or her level of ability.
To promote a positive self-image, we encourage
children to compete only with themselves in their
class work, as well as other areas.
In other words, don’t compare. Simply do your personal best.
