Art Education:

As with music education, all Saint Isaac Jogues
students attend art classes. Our goals are to strengthen
problem solving skills, to initiate creative solutions
within the guidelines of the assignments, to respect
others and their artwork, to explore varied art materials,
and ultimately to broaden one's outlook of the world.

Current art themes emphasize: “Taking Care of the
Earth…and Thinking Green,” “Appreciating Art of Today
– Contemporary Artists of the 21st Century,” and
“Embracing Varied Cultures and Age.”

Kindergarten through fifth are taught Fine Arts and
Art History via drawing, painting, pastels, collage,
weaving, three-dimensional construction, and other
media.

In grades, sixth through eighth, the base of knowledge
in Fine Arts and Art History is enhanced through the
introduction of the business-side of art and design.
Lessons include Graphic Design, Industrial Design,
Architecture, Computer Graphics, and marketing with
visual communications.
