Eucharist
At St Isaac Jogues Parish, most families celebrate First Eucharist in second grade. Registration forms are available in the spring for the upcoming year.
Families, whose child is in a grade higher than two, are also welcome to bring him or her to preparation for this sacrament. The desire for such preparation and celebration can be expressed by contacting the Director of the Eucharist Preparation Program (Helen Johnson).
Because all families constitute one parish, the children of both the parochial school and the public schools come together for a special sacramental celebration for First Eucharist. Families, who want to celebrate as an individual family rather than as part of the group, are welcome to do so by arranging the details with the Director of the Eucharist Preparation Program (Helen Johnson).
Before children can receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, they must have the knowledge and preparation required to understand the mystery of Christ to the best of their ability. It is then that they can fully embrace and receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
