Religious Education > Grades 6 to 8

For children in Grades 6 to 8:

  1. On Site Program for Grades 6, 7 & 8 - meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm or Sundays-4:00 to 5:30pm at St Isaac Jogues School. Small groups of youth, with an adult catechist meet together in an atmosphere of trust to learn more about the Catholic faith. Families register yearly in the spring to request the day of preference.
  2. Home Based Groups for Grades 7 and 8 only - small groups of youth meet in the homes of adult catechists, in lieu of coming on site. Ideally, the group stays together for 2 years, growing in faith together as a small Christian community.
  3. Home Family Faith Formation for Grade 6 is designed for families who want to learn more about the Catholic faith within the home setting. Families utilize the materials provided by the parish. Five workshop events are scheduled throughout the year for all family members participating in this option.

St Isaac Jogues Parish utilizes the Call to Faith series, produced by Harcourt Religion Publishers of Houghton - Miffin. Call to Faith offers a spiral curriculum with the following themes being presented in an age appropriate manner at each grade level:

  1. Revelation
  2. Trinity
  3. Jesus Christ
  4. The Church
  5. Morality
  6. Sacraments
  7. The Kingdom of God

Registration materials are mailed to the homes in March; you can also pick up the registration materials at the Religious Education Office, after March 15th.
