November 13 –  WOMEN IN THE CHURCH TODAY  -- Sr. Madelyn Gould

Sr. Madelyn Gould will recount three waves of women’s struggles against gender discrimination in our society.  She will show how these influences have affected the Catholic Church.  Reflecting upon her own story as a woman in the Church, Sr. Madelyn will highlight the advances that the Church has made regarding the role of women as well as challenges that have yet to be met. 

Sr. Madelyn is a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis and holds post graduate degrees in Religious Education, Theology and Spirituality.  Presently, she is Director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Naperville where she has been for the past 25 years.  She also serves as President of the Board of Directors for Mayslake Ministries.

April 22 –  FOUR WAYS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE -- Coleen Mast

We are pleased to bring back Coleen Mast with her fast-moving, one-hour inspirational and motivational talk.  Learn four actions and four adverbs to improve the quality of our attitudes and actions.  What am I doing? Why do I do what I do? How do I do it?  --

 Dr. Mast, an author, lecturer and radio talk show host, currently helps with family life issues all over the country hosting a call-in radio advice show on 99 Catholic Radio Stations.  She has appeared on Oprah, Geraldo, Mother Angelica Live, and 60 Minutes.  She is entertaining, enlightening and inspiring.


COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN
Monthly board meetings, 9:00-10:00 am

The CCW's purpose is to build a sense of community among the women of our parish.  We serve the parish and the community with an emphasis on women and children in need.   Through money raised from our annual fashion show we are able to provide financial assistance and service hours to worthy causes.
