BETTER BY THE DOZEN, PLUS TWO-- Jim and Kathleen Littleton

Please join us as we welcome this couple, married for twenty-three years and parents of nineteen children.  This is a family you won’t forget.  Jim and Kathleen will share anecdotes and their philosophy of life as written in their new book, Better by the Dozen, Plus Two.


October 19 – OKTOBERFEST DINNER AND PLAY - PUT THE NUNS IN CHARGE!   

Adults of the parish, you won’t want to miss our catered Oktoberfest Dinner with grilled brats, homemade sauerkraut, späetzle, warm apple dumplings and beer.  After dinner in the Parish Center, head over to the school gym for a performance of Put the Nuns in Charge!  Currently on stage at the Royal George Theatre in Chicago, the entire show will be staged here at SIJ.  Tickets for dinner and the play are $25.00 and can be purchased at the Rectory.  Call 655-6668.


March 9-10-11 –  PARISH MISSION-- Matthew Kelley

For these three days in Lent we have asked Matthew Kelly to return to St. Isaac’s for our Parish Mission.  Both as a speaker and as a writer, Matthew possesses a powerful ability to energize people to pursue the highest values of the human spirit. 

Make this a part of your Lenten experience.  Join our Mission for all three evenings.


RITE OF CHRISTIAN
INITIATION
OF ADULTS
Monday, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Rectory, Room 201

The process of initiation for people interested in learning and membership in the Catholic Church.  Also, an opportunity for members of the parish family to mentor  participants in their faith journey. 

RCIA is for any adult, 18 years or older….
-  who was never baptized, or baptized in   
   another faith and is interested in the
   Catholic Faith. 
who was baptized in another Christian
   faith and desires to become a member
   of the Catholic Church.
-  who was baptized Catholic, but never
   received the Sacraments of Eucharist and/
   or Confirmation and wishes to complete
   them.
who was baptized Catholic, received the
   Sacrament of Eucharist and Confirmation
   and wishes to refresh their knowledge or
   learn more about their Catholic Faith.


LENTEN PROGRAM
Wednesday mornings during Lent
9:30 - 11:00 am, Rectory, Room 205

Open to everyone in the parish.  You are invited to meet weekly to share insights gained from the Lenten readings.


LIBRARY

Books, audio and video tapes are available in the Adult Formation office on the third floor of the Rectory building.


SCRIPTURE STUDY
Bible Timeline on Tuesdays,
7:30-9:30 pm in the Fireplace Room.

The Bible Timeline will be presented again this year.  Learn the ‘Big Picture’ of God’s Plan of Salvation, and develop a lifetime of fruitful Bible study.

Adventures in Matthew
on Wednesdays, 7:30-9:30 pm or Thursdays,
9:00-11:00 am in the Fireplace Room.

Building on the foundation laid in The Great Adventure Bible Timeline, Adventures in Matthew: The King and His Kingdom by Jeff Cavins, focuses on Jesus as the fulfillment of the promises of the Old Testament. You’ve Got the Big Picture, Now Dive Into the Story. The second step in the Great Adventure program focuses on Jesus Christ and His glorious plan for His Body, the Church.
