Adult Formation
Mission Statement

 
Adulthood is a process of on-going growth.  As Christians, we strive to understand the meaning and purpose of our lives in light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Through a wide variety of programs and gatherings, the Adult Formation Ministry attempts to link the needs, interests, values and goals of all adult parishioners with the biblical, theological and spiritual heritage of the Church.  Our goal is to help people discover and respond to the presence and movement of God in the reality of their particular life situation.

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)
A process designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ.  It is completely oriented to the parish in order to give both the individual and the parish an opportunity for renewal and growth in the spiritual life.

Council of Catholic Women (CCW)
Promotes programs and events that serve spiritual and social needs both inside and outside of our community. All women of the parish are members.

Lenten Program
All are invited to meet weekly during Lent to share insights gained from the Lenten readings.  Meets Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am during Lent.  See bulletin or call for details.
A Soup & Bread meal is offered to all parishioners on the Fridays of Lent followed by Stations of the Cross.

Men’s Group
Provides fellowship, spiritual, and service opportunities for men, with small discussion groups, social gatherings, and monthly meetings featuring interesting speakers.

Parish Life Commission
Responsible for building the parish into a faith community by identifying and providing for the social and communal needs of the Church.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The process of initiation for people interested in learning and interested in membership in the Catholic Church.  Also, it is an opportunity for members of the parish family to mentor participants in their faith journey by becoming a sponsor.

Scripture Study
Based on The Great Adventure Bible Study Program, our parish will focus on Exodus for a 10-week bible study beginning on September 2 and 3, and 1st Corinthians for a 10-week bible study program beginning on January 6 and 7. Evening meetings are held on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm, daytime meetings are held on Thursdays at 9:00 am. The 2010 summer session will be detailed in the bulletin.

Spiritual Book Discussion Group
Selects inspirational books for discussion and reflection. Meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings of the month September to May.

Vocations Committee
Its mission is to create awareness in our faith community of the need to nurture and encourage vocations to religious life though education, outreach, and prayer.

Welcoming Committee
Welcomes new parish members with personal contact. Provides social opportunities to meet other new members and learn about the parish.
